The mid-term evaluation process of the Central Baltic INTERREG IV A Programme 2007-2013 has started. The evaluation work will be conducted during 2010 by DEA Baltika from Latvia, selected on the basis of a tender procedure by the Managing Authority. The evaluation process is supported by the Evaluation Steering Group consisting of nominated Monitoring Committee members and deputies from participating Member States/Åland as well as the MA/JTS. The results of the evaluation will be used for the further development and improvement of the programme implementation in 2011-2013.

The evaluation will cover strategic as well as operational contents of the programme. The evaluators are going to collect data and information from a variety of sources, including the programme documents and database, programme staff, members of the Monitoring and Steering Committees, funded projects, potential beneficiaries and other key stakeholders. The methods include e.g. telephone interviews, meetings and questionnaire based surveys.

The programme asks for all involved and relevant bodies to cooperate with the evaluators in their valuable work upon request. This support will be important when developing the programme further.
