Follow-up call Archipelago and Islands Sub-programme Priority 1 (Safe and healthy environment) |

On Monday, 12 March 2012, the Programme will open a follow-up call to the 6th call which will close again on Friday, 15 June 2012.
This follow-up call is open only for applications in the Archipelago and Islands Sub-programme and here its priority 1 (Safe and healthy environment). All other (sub-)programmes and priorities are closed since all funding has been allocated. For this follow-up call, the same application package as for the 6th call will be used.

The 7th issue of the programme's e-newsletter The Float is now available for download! This issue of the programme newsletter focuses on the programme’s third priority of attractive and dynamic societies.
In the newsletter you can read, among other things, about:
- "The European year on active ageing and solidarity between generations - Show initiatives from the Central Baltic region" written by Anne-Sophie Parent, Secretary General of AGE Platform Europe, and - Interesting facts about young people in the Central Baltic countries, and - Four projects funded by the programme targeting the elderly or young people in our area.

Baltic Training Programme project wins Bouncing Float Award 2011 |

In the summer, the annual Bouncing Float Award contest was declared open for the second year running. This time the theme was "Functional and innovative project websites". All projects funded by the Central Baltic INTERREG IV A Programme 2007-2013 that have their own website were included in the contest. The Bouncing Float Award was handed over to the project’s Lead Partner, Anders Bergström in Stockholm on 23 November by the Head of the Joint Technical Secretariat and the winner announced on November 25 via the programme mailing list and also at the "Tools for project implementation seminar" for Priority 3 projects in Stockholm. The winning project, Baltic Training Programme (BTP), received a prize of a brass antique style compass to help them navigate the wonders of the world wide web.

New projects approved by all Steering Committees (Archipelago and Islands, Central Baltic and Southern Finland-Estonia) |

The three Steering Committees of the Central Baltic (CB) Programme held their 7th meetings in Tallinn, Estonia on 11-12 October and took the following funding decisions on the applications received in the 6th call for applications. The call was open from 1 May-10 June for the Southern Finland - Estonia as well as the Archipelago and Islands Sub-programmes. For the Central Baltic Programme the call was open from 1 May-12 August.
Archipelago and Islands (AI)
- Approved: 2 projects (one in Priority 2 and one in Priority 3)
- Rejected: 3 projects
- 1 project did not pass the technical check (TAC)
Central Baltic (CB)
- Approved: 9 projects (6 in Priority 2 and 3 in Priority 3)
- Waiting list: 6 projects (3 in Priority 2 and 3 in Priority 3)
- Rejected: 19 projects (9 in Priority 2 and 10 in Priority 3)
- 10 projects did not pass the technical check (TAC)
Southern Finland-Estonia (SFE)
- Approved onto the waiting list: 6 projects (5 in Priority 1 and 1 project in Priority 2)
More detailed information will follow once all the Steering Committee minutes have been formally approved for all the programmes. |

“Europe in my region: what is being done with our EU money?”
EU funds benefit everyone - the young and old, the unemployed, farmers, health care employees, inhabitants of cities and rural areas, students and researchers etc. The Central Baltic INTERREG IV A Programme 2007-2013

will stage photo exhibitions during 10-30 October in Helsinki, Mariehamn, Riga, Stockholm and Tallinn to showcase how EU funds have benefited people in the Central Baltic region.
The photo exhibitions are also local events of the "Open Days 2011 9th European Week of Regions and Cities" held in Brussels during 10-13 October. Welcome to visit our Showcase photo exhibitions and have a cup of coffee with us!
